Daniel W. Kline

U.S. Veteran

Daniel W. Kline, 62, of Van Wert, died at 3:05 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2012, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys, Ohio.

He was born Sept. 19, 1949, in Van Wert, to the late Patricia (Roth) Kline and Charles William Kline. His wife, Pamela (Shaffer) Kline, survives of Van Wert. They were married Dec. 1, 1979.

Other survivors include his children: Shaune (Chris) Lameier of Dayton, Ohio, Danielle Kline of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Heather (Matt) McGraw of Richland, Mo., sisters: Linda (Gary) Kesler and Sandy Springer, both of Van Wert, and two grandchildren: Chandler and Peyton Lameier.

He was a supervisor at Federal Mogul, Van Wert, with 40-plus years of service and a member of First United Methodist Church, Van Wert. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving in Vietnam and a member of Van Wert VFW. In addition to his love for his grandchildren, Dan enjoyed fishing and was an all-around avid outdoorsman and enjoyed riding his motorcycle.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 23 at First United Methodist Church, Van Wert. The Rev. Gus Christo-Baker will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert. Military graveside services will be conducted by Van Wert American Legion and VFW.

Friends may call from 1-3 and 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 22 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert, also, one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
