Adelina Alvarez

VAN WERT, Ohio - Adelina (DeLeon) Alvarez, 77, of Van Wert, died at 12:35 a.m. Thursday, June 13, 2013, at her residence.
She was born March 24, 1936, in Los Ramones, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, to the late Manuela (Garza) DeLeon and Abundio DeLeon.
Her husband, Guillermo "Willie" Alvarez, died April 30, 2012. They were married Feb. 14, 1959, in Homestead, Fla.
Survivors include children: Adelina Alvarez, Griselda (Steve) Goings and Rolando (Sara) Alvarez, all of Van Wert; brother: Abundio DeLeon of Harlingen, Texas; sister: Amparo Rodriguez of Los Ramones, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, and five grandchildren: Nathan and Michael Goings, Eli, Alaina and Isaac Alvarez.
She was preceded in death by brothers: Abel and Arnold DeLeon, and a grandchild: Emily Goings.
She retired from Kennedy Kit Mfg. in Van Wert and was a member of Calvary Evangelical Church, Van Wert.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2013, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. The Rev. Clark Williman will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2013, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is Alzheimer's Association or Community Health Professionals-Hospice.
