Alice L. Gamble passed away May 17, 2017, at Kindred Hospital in Lima, Ohio.
She was born in rural Elida, Ohio, to the late John and Dorotha (Coles) Krugh.
She was a member of Salem Presbyterian Church in Venedocia where she played in the bell choir. She was a 4-H advisor for many years, a Peony Festival lady and a member of Elgin town council for 25 years.
She loved to camp and travel. She has been to 49 of the 50 states. She was an avid fan of Ohio State football and Lincolnview Lancer basketball. She enjoyed life and especially loved her family.
Alice retired from Haviland Drainage Company in Haviland, Ohio.
Surviving are two daughters, Vicki (Larry) Smith of Elgin and Monica Pabst and Phil Griffith of Elgin; and one son, Jeff (Deb) Gamble of Van Wert; four grandchildren; two step grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; seven great step-grandchildren; two great great step-grandchildren; one brother, Richard (Ruth) Krugh; four nieces; one nephew; and many great nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was a son, Thomas Wayne; and her sister, Sydney (Bruce) Mayer.
Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 22, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. Burial will follow at Tomlinson Cemetery on Van Wert/Mercer County Line Road. The Rev. Randy Bevington and Rev. Paul Hamrick will officiate.
Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Sunday, May 21, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory. Also, one hour prior to services Monday.
Preferred memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
