Amelia Lineberger

VAN WERT - Amelia B. Lineberger, 87, of Van Wert, OH., passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center in Van Wert, OH.
She was born on January 29, 1924 in Lima, OH. to Nicholas and Theresa (Farago) Benny, both of whom are deceased. She married Edwin O. Lineberger on June 17, 1945. He survives in Van Wert.
Lineberger is survived by her children, Gregory M. Lineberger of Santa Fe, NM, Pamela A. Lohman of Chambersburg, PA, and Cynthia S. Luby of Ellenton, FL; two brothers, David J. (Janet) Benny of Elida, OH and Arnold (Sharon) Benny of Wapakoneta, OH; three sisters, Theresa Carnes of Wapakoneta, OH; Regina (Wayne) Bailey of Lima, OH and Irma (Donald) Newland of Howard, OH; grandchildren, Bianca (Chris) Young of Colorado Springs, CO, Jeffrey Lohman of Provo,UT, Brian Lohman of Chambersburg, PA and Lisa (Jonathon) Bard of Shippensburg, PA; and great-grandchildren, Gage Young of Colorado Springs, CO, Jazmyn Young of Colorado Springs, CO, Jasper Lee Bard of Shippensburg, PA and Rachel Madison Lohman of Chambersburg, PA.
She was preceded in death by three children, Nancy L., Patricia L., and Gordon W. Lineberger; one brother, Nicholas Benny; and two sisters, Mathilda Wright and Wilma Benny.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Van Wert. She taught Elementary school in California and Ohio and had substituted in the Van Wert City schools for several years until retiring in 1984. Lineberger was a graduate of Blume High School in Wapakoneta, OH and the Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, OH. She was a member and Past President of Delta Kappa Gamma International and a member of the Ohio Retired Teacher's Association.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Lima, OH. The service will be officiated by Rev. Hal Shafer.
Preferred memorials will be to the Alzheimer's Research Foundation or the donor's choice.
