URBANA, Ohio - Angela Judith Boyd Bridges went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 8 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, surrounded by her husband and children. She had battled cancer for an extended period of time.
She was born on July 31, 1949, in Van Wert, Ohio, to Harold and Patricia Boyd who survive in Van Wert.
She married Richard Glenn Bridges on May 24, 1975. He survives in Urbana, Ohio.
Other survivors include: sons: Abram and Chris Bridges of Urbana; daughters: Tonyia Parker of London, Ohio, Amelia and Mikayla Bridges, both at home; sisters: Kathy (Byron) Thompson of Convoy, Ohio, and Diane (Jon) Brock of Van Wert; brothers: Harold (Jean) Boyd of Washington, Pa., and Don (Jackie) Boyd of Valley View, Texas; eight grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.
She and her husband were foster parents for many years. She was the former co-owner of Angela Bridges Figure Salons and recently had worked as a secretary for the Urbana Friends Church where she was a member. She served in the mission fields for 10 years with her husband and family and was involved with various other Christian work. Angela enjoyed going to the movies, camping, reunions and she loved going to the beach. She also was an excellent cook and loved to experiment with new dishes. Her passion was her family and she was completely dedicated to the care of her children and enjoyed time with her family.
Funeral services will be conducted by the Revs. Peter Faville and Dave Ridenour on Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. Burial will take place at Convoy I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Convoy. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. at Vernon Funeral Home in Urbana on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, and from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert on Friday, Jan. 4, 2013.
