VAN WERT, Ohio - Anita C. Uncapher, 77, of Van Wert, died at 9:42 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
She was born Jan. 19, 1936, in Scott, Ohio, to the late Alice (Pollock) Sperry and D. Keith Sperry.
Her husband, John U. Uncapher, died Sept. 11, 1996. They were married Feb. 14, 1970.
Survivors include her step-children: Peter Uncapher, Greg Uncapher and Cindy (Jerry) Ramsay, all of Van Wert; brother: Maurie (Leslie) Sperry of Roanoke, Ind.; sister: Charlotte (Larry) Laukhuf of Haviland, Ohio; grandchildren: Tracy Uncapher of Sandusky, Ohio, Andrew Ramsay of Washington Court House, Ohio, and Allison Ramsay of Defiance, Ohio, and a special niece: Cindy (Lyle) Quackenbush of Bradenton, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her sisters: Marcia Eisenhut and Janice Elaine Sperry who died in infancy.
She was the current office manager at Eisenhauer Manufacturing Co., Van Wert, and formerly a medical secretary assistant for Dr. Robert Ball, Ft. Wayne, Ind., for 25 years. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Van Wert. She attended Elkhart University and was a member of United Methodist Women of the church.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27 at Wesley United Methodist Church, Van Wert. The Rev. Josh Tissot will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert, and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
Preferred memorial is Wesley United Methodist Church or Van Wert Inpatient Hospice.
