VAN WERT, Ohio a�" Annabelle (Thatcher) Johns, 93, of Van Wert, died at 8:27 a.m. Sunday, June 1, 2014, at Vancrest of Van Wert, Van Wert.

She was born Feb. 24, 1921, in Jackson Township, to the late Clema (Ashbaugh) Thatcher Zaner and Elvin (Mike) Thatcher.

Her husband, Melvin (Johnny) Johns, passed away in 1976. They married in April 1941.

Survivors include children: Phyllis (William) Etzler Davis-Kill and Carolyn Sue (George) Johns Mosier Noggle, both of Van Wert; stepchildren: Ruby Joanne Johns Anderson of Aurora, Colorado, and Kathryn (Jack) Johns Willis of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina; a brother: Floyd Thatcher of rural Middle Point, Ohio; a sister: Marilyn (Charles) Jones of Antwerp, Ohio; four grandchildren: Val Davis of Loveland, Ohio, Kris (Barry) Craft, Ed (Barb) Mosier, Tony (Lisa) Noggle, all of Van Wert; four step-grandchildren: George (Shelly) Noggle, Jeff (Deb) Kill, Sharon Kill Lange (Dan Shannon) and Jennifer (Jeff) Kill Deiter; six great grandchildren: Ashley Craft, Brittany Craft, Lindsey Mosier, Brad Mosier, Colin Mosier, and Tyler Lloyd; several step-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild: Hendrix Mosier. She leaves many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by brothers: Charles, Glenn, and Harold Thatcher, and a sister: Ruth Prator.

She was a private home healthcare provider for many years who retired at 84 years of age. She had been previously employed at the Marsh Foundation Seed House, St. Mary's Canning Factory, Borden's Cheese Factory and the Van Wert County Home. She was a 70-year member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church. She attended Hoaglin Jackson School.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 5, 2014, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Van Wert. The Rev. Will Haggis will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery, Middle Point.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.

Preferred memorial is St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Van Wert.
