Anthony G. "Tony" Freeland, 53, of Van Wert died at 4:57 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, 2016, at the Ohio State University Medical Center. He was born Sept. 27, 1962, in Celina to Ronald and Marilyn (Petrie) Freeland, both survive in Celina.
He married Lynne (Grunden) Freeland, who survives in Van Wert.
He is also survived by his children, Alexa Freeland and Katlyn Freeland, both of Van Wert; sister, Tammy (Jeff) Pontsler of Rockford; nephews, Scott and Stephen Pontsler; and three great nephews.
He worked at Toledo Mold & Die in Delphos for 26 years.
He attended Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert where he was involved in the food pantry. He was an avid gardener, bird watcher, golfer, Ohio State Buckeye, Cincinnati Bengal and Cincinnati Reds fan. Tony was a member of UAW Local 2279 and was a 1981 graduate of Celina High School.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory. Also, one hour prior to service time Wednesday at the church.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 17, at Trinity Friends Church, Van Wert, with the Rev. Steve Savage officiating. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital or may be directed to the family.
