VAN WERT, Ohio a�" Arthur W. Yoh, 91, of Van Wert, ran into the arms of Jesus at 8:42 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center, Van Wert.
He was born Aug. 29, 1923, in Scott, Ohio, to the late Elizabeth (Bender) Yoh and Ervin S. Yoh.
His wife, Marilee (Foster) Yoh, survives in Van Wert.
Other survivors include his children: Beth Ann Yoh of Van Wert, and Brenda L. (Brian) Shoop of Birmingham, Alabama, grandchildren: Michelle (Patrick) Gorman, Julie (Andy) Emerine, Jonathan (Kristen) Perkins, Scott (Andrea) Shoop, Emily (Joshua) Aldy, Hannah Shoop, Sarah Shoop, and Jesse Shoop, and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers: Louis, Lester and Howard Yoh, and a sister: Olive Yoh.
He was a farmer, butcher at Rager's Country Butcher Shop and a self-employed contractor. He was a very active member of Trinity Friends Church, and a veteran of WWII who served in the US Navy.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014, at Trinity Friends Church, Van Wert. The Rev. Steve Savage will officiate. Burial will be in Mohr Cemetery, Van Wert County, Ohio, with military graveside services.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert, and one hour prior to service at the church.
Preferred memorial is Trinity Friends Church or Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
