Barbara A. Nosek, 79, of Rockford, Ohio, died at 7:25 a.m. on Monday, October 29, 2012, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert, Ohio, where she was a patient. She was born on March 12, 1933, in Hammond, Indiana, the daughter of George Barna, and Barbara Kaschak. After her father's death, her mother remarried, and she was adopted by her step-father, Matt Samboric. In May, 1958, she married Edward Eugene Nosek, and he preceded in death on July 19, 1961. She graduated from Rockford High School, and then moved to Romeo, Michigan in 1971, and was there until moving back to Rockford on October 7, 2011. She was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, Rockford, and was an avid reader and loved painting, and was an excellent artist. Surviving is one daughter, Teresa Rauch of Rockford, one granddaughter, Amanda (Anthony) Lachowicz of Washington Township, Michigan, and two sisters-in-law, Elennor Barna, of Westland Michigan and Bea Nosek, of Mendon, Ohio. Deceased in addition to her parents and husband is one daughter, Ann Jackson; four brothers, George, Joseph, John, and Jim Barna; and two sisters, Evelyn Shafer and Mary Barna. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, in Rockford, Ohio, with Father Kenneth Schnipke officiating. Burial will be in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery, Celina, Ohio.
