Barbara Taylor

Barbara L. Taylor, age 70, of Venedocia, passed away at 3:29 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born October 01, 1947 in Van Wert, Ohio, to her late parents, Alfred Jackson and Alice (Stegaman) Bell.

Barbara was a 1965 graduate of Lincolnview High School and attended St. Mary of the Assumption. Catholic Church. While she tended bar for many Van Wert establishments, Barbara worked for 15 years at The Corral. Though her illness kept her from enjoying many of her favorite activities, Barbara could still be found in the kitchen baking and cooking for her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel E. Taylor of Venedocia; children: Leslie (Billie) Collins of Van Wert; Nicole (Kara F.) Taylor of Shawnee; brothers, Greg Jackson of Van Wert; Alfred “Jack” (Debora) Jackson of North Carolina; sisters, Carol (Barry)Crowle of North Carolina; Pam Longstreth of Van Wert; step father, James Bell of Van Wert; grandchildren, Sharon McClain of Lima; Jerron Taylor of Van Wert; Layten Collins of Van Wert; step grandson, Jayse; great-grandchildren, Kayliana, Ariel & Zoey; nieces and nephews, Michelle Finkhousen, Torrie Coburn, Amy Reardon; Eric & Matt Longstreth; Sumer Figley; Justin Jackson, Kari Crider; Angel Stevens, Greg Jackson; Jeff, Kim & Julie Short; Charlie Mechling; Brian & Eric Neely; Lisa Kinninger; Lewis & Katrina Taylor; Jeanie & Samantha Taylor; Justin & Jessie Taylor.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her niece, Brandy Blauvelt; and nephews, Chad Mechling & Chris Longstreth.

Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory with Fr. Stan Szybka presiding. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to the Lutheran Heart Center at Lutheran Hospital.
