Barry Robert Lloyd, 69, of Fairfield Glade, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 13, 2017. He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Barry loved his family dearly, to the full-extent of his being, and they in turn loved him. His family and his faith in God were the focus of his life. He was born in Van Wert, Ohio on September 28, 1947 to the late Robert "Bob" and Betty Ruth (Shindeldecker) Lloyd. He leaves behind the following to cherish his loving memory: his wife Linda (Campbell) Lloyd of Fairfield Glade, Tennessee; son, Jon (Glenn Bogan) Lloyd of Fort Wayne, Indiana; daughter, Nikki (Steve) Burrell of Fremont, Indiana; stepchildren, Allen Gage of Tavares, Florida; Douglas (Susi) Gage of Englewood, Ohio; and Tina (Shadd) Heaston of Punta Gorda, Florida; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren; sister, Barbara (Chuck) Painter of Rockford, Ohio; and his faithful pets, Maxwell and Daisy. Barry graduated from Parkway High School in 1965, and earned his mechanical engineering degree from Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne. He obtained his B.S.M.E. and M.B.A. from Bowling Green State University. Barry enjoyed a successful career with Dana Corporation, retiring after 34 years as Director of Engineering. During his career, Barry won many awards with the company, and co-patented the voice actuated two speed axle among others. Barry was a member of SAE International, Former Chair of the L. Ray Buckendale Lectures, and ASME. After retirement, he went on to join the ipPerformance Group as a consultant specializing in intellectual property management teams and operational practices in global corporations. Barry was a member of Central Baptist Church in Crossville, Tennessee where he sang in the choir, was involved in various men's groups, teaching and bible studies. He had many hobbies and interests including elaborate model train displays as well as building and flying 1/5-scale model RC airplanes. He was an avid world traveler, loved cruises, and in his later years was a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association and enjoyed traveling with his wife on their motorcycle and motorhome. Barry was also a member of the HAM radio community and loved making wine. Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 19, 2017, at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, located at 111 West 1st Street, Rockford, Ohio with visitation one hour prior, Rev. Bruce Head officiating. Friends and family are invited to gather on Saturday, March 18, 2017 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial at Riverside Cemetery in Rockford, Ohio.
