Bernice Myers

Bernice I. Myers, 86, of VanCrest Healthcare Center, formally of Van Wert, passed away, Monday, June 6, 2016 at the Hospice In Patient Center, Van Wert.

She was born June 13, 1929 in Grover Hill, Latty Township, Paulding County to the late Clyde and Bertha (Martz) Crone. On June 30, 1956, she married Harvey D. Myers, who survives.

Mrs. Myers was a homemaker and retired after 13 years from Kennedy Manufacturing in 1991. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Van Wert. She served on the Visitation Group of Trinity UM and was a volunteer at Visiting Nurses Adult Day Care and Hospice.

She is survived by three sons, Forrest "Brooks"(Nancy) Myers of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Randy (Betty) Myers of Van Wert, and Mark Myers of South Orange, New Jersey. Six granddaughters, Heidi Myers, Laurie (Justin) Summerall, Krista (Chad) Schlemmer, Amy (Nathan) Amstutz, Brooke (Marcus) Meyer, and Megan Myers, seven great grandsons and two great granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Clyde Crone Jr., Rex Crone, and William Crone; six sisters, Ruth Coder, Dorothy Hillman, Betty Lehman, Melva Myers, Edith Scarbrough and Evelyn Craig. Services will be 10:30AM Friday, June 10, 2016 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. Pastor Scott Campbell will officiate. Interment will be at Woodland Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 9, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials are to Vancrest Activities Fund OR Van Wert Inpatient Hospice, both of Van Wert, OH
