Betty Lou Adkins, 81, of Van Wert, died at 10:30 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2016, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center. She was born Dec. 13, 1934, in Paulding County, Ohio, to the late Cecile (Kipker) Cavinder Jordan and Loyal Thomas "Bud" Cavinder.
Survivors include her children, Robert L. Adkins of Payne, Ohio, and Lori (Dave) Royse of Convoy, Ohio; brother, Robert (Sharon Flint) Cavinder of Briceton, Ohio; grandchildren, Tom (Becky) Bowersox, Joe (Katie) Bowersox, Aaron Adkins, Robert (Kasie) Adkins; step grandchildren: Kevin (Chelsea) Royse and Paul Royse, and great-grandchildren: Hunter Bowersox, Caleb Bowersox, Arianna Adkins, Alysia Adkins, Kaylee Adkins, and Skyler Adkins.
She retired from Federal Mogul Corporation, Van Wert. Betty's dogs, Sadie and Sophie, were a very important part of her family.
Service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 28, 2016, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert. Burial will be in Blue Creek Cemetery, Haviland, Ohio.
Visitation is 2-6 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is Van Wert County Humane Society or Van Wert Inpatient Hospice.
