Betty R. Lloyd, 90, of Rockford, Ohio, died Sunday, July 24, 2016, at 7:50 a.m. at the Laurels of Shane Hill where she had been a patient. She was born on December 4, 1925, in Celina, Ohio, to Cornelius and Opal (Barnett) Shindeldecker. She was a graduate of Rockford High School, and on September 3, 1946, she married Robert Leroy Lloyd; Bob preceded in death on October 4, 2001. Betty was a homemaker and also would work occasionally, at Lloyd's Ford Dealership as a secretary. Betty was a member of the Eastern Stars, the Rockford Presbyterian Women's Association, St. Paul's United Methodist Women's Association, and a member of the Grand Lake United Methodist Church in Celina. Betty and Bob loved to travel with their children and friends when they were young, but later in life, she centered herself around her children and grand children. She enjoyed knitting, reading, and baking. Betty also spent a lot of time outside gardening and taking care of her landscaping. Surviving are her two loving children, Barbara A. (Chuck) Painter of Rockford, and Barry R. (Linda) Lloyd of Crossville, Tennessee; seven grandchildren: Jon Lloyd (Glen Bogan), Nikki Burrell, (Steve), Shannon Painter-Carpenter (Adam), Brandon Painter (Jessica), Allen Gage, Doug Gage (Susie), Tina Heaston (Shad); thirteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. Deceased are a sister, Phyllis Carr, and a brother, Harold Shindeldecker. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford with Pastor Diane Mendelson officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 p.m.-8:00p.m. and on Tuesday, one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be directed to State of the Heart Hospice or to Grand Lake United Methodist Church.
