VAN WERT, Ohio - Betty Jane Martin, 90, Van Wert, died at 7:24 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012, at the Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.
She was born Feb. 14, 1921, in Van Wert, to the late Emma (Simon) Graham and Homer E. Graham. Her husband, Truman C. Martin, died April 24, 2005. They were married June 24, 1943.
Survivors include her children: Mike (Karen) Martin and Molly Holmes, both of Van Wert, her grandchildren: David (Tammy) Martin of Loveland, Amie (Lance) Moonshower of Van Wert, Jeff (Jennifer) Hyre of Findlay, Ohio, and Joe Hyre of Paulding, Ohio, and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Helen Bagley.
She was a homemaker, a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Van Wert and had been a member of the former Van Wert Woman's Club. She enjoyed painting, crafting, genealogy, bird watching and especially her grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. The Rev. Will Haggis will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.
