Betty Jean (Miller) Morehead, 87, of Van Wert, died at 7:32 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, 2016, at the Van Wert County Hospital.
She was born in Van Wert, on July 13, 1929, to Herman and Frances (Fisher) Miller.
On Aug. 23, 1947, she married William J. Morehead. They resided in the Convoy area until moving to Van Wert within the last few years. She is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Ann (William) Wortman of Ohio City, Ohio, and Debra Kay (Jonathan) Warner of Elida, Ohio. Other survivors are a sister, Carol (Kenneth) Doner of Van Wert; brother-in-law, Gerald Manken of Van Wert; five grandchildren, Amanda, Megan, Sarah, Krissa and Erick; three stepgrandchildren, Shawn, Jason and Kayla; eight great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Richard Miller; sisters, Ruth Joseph and Marilyn Manken, and a grandson, Scott Wortman.
She retired after working 42 years at Federal Mogul, Buckeye Mart, and the last 28 years as a supervisor at Quality Farm & Fleet, all in Van Wert. She was an auxiliary life member of the Van Wert V.F.W. and American Legion posts. She also retired from the Convoy Fire Department after 13 years as an E.M.T. and treasurer. She enjoyed her family and loved to cook for them. She loved her flower gardens, was an avid bingo player, enjoyed puzzles, painting and traveling.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. The Rev. Will Haggis will officiate. Burial will take place at Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, 2016, at the funeral home.
