FORT WAYNE, Ind. a�" Betty E. Rowe, born Betty Etta Towsey on Sept. 18, 1926, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, lost life on April 1, 2017, in Fort Wayne. Betty was the youngest of six siblings born to Bertha (Selden) and William Towsey. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and three sisters - Norman (Martha) Towsey, Florence (Donald) White, Marjorie (Robert) Hardman, William (Delores) Towsey, Marie (William) Owens.
Betty married Robert L. Rowe on April 29, 1950, and he preceded her in death.
She is survived by her four children, Robert E. (Diania) Rowe of Shelby Township, Michigan, Larry (Rose) Rowe of White Lake, Michigan, Margaret (Lavon) Ross of Adrian, Michigan, and Constance (Kenneth-deceased) Rowe-Sullivan of Fort Wayne. Betty has six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren plus many nieces, nephews and relatives.
Betty was a graduate of Van Wert High School and member of the Latty Zion Baptist Church. She was an avid bowler in several leagues in Paulding and Van Wert. Betty retired from the Paulding County Sheriff's Department after 18 years of service.
There will be a visitation for Betty from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, April 7, 2017, at the Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, 772 S. Washington St., Van Wert, OH 45891. Funeral services are at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert, Ohio.
