Betty Louise Schumm, 90, of Rockford, Ohio, died at 10:40 p.m., Saturday, October 15, 2011, at the Laurels of Shane Hill where she was a patient. She was born on March 1, 1921, to Amos Clemons and Esther Emilie (Schumm) Schumm. She had worked five years at the TuWay Mop Factory in Rockford, but had worked the majority of her life at Reynolds & Reynolds in Celina, where she ran a printing press. She retired from there. She lived in the Rockford area all her life and was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Schumm, Ohio. She was a member of the L.W.M.L. womens association, a member of the Lutheran Laymen League, and a member of the Ladies Aid. She also had been a volunteer at the Laurels of Shane Hill. Surviving is a sister, Helen (Vincent) Muntzinger, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; several nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Blossom Schumm of Tempe, Airzona. Deceased are two sisters, Ruth Buuck and Hildegarde Buxton and one brother, Amos Jack Schumm. Services will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Schumm, Ohio, with Pastor Jeff Patterson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m., and at the church on Thursday, one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be directed to the Lutheran Hour Ministries and the Concordia Theological Seminary Student Aid, and to the Worship for Shut-Ins, all in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
