Betty Shook
April 29, 1930 — September 24, 2016
Betty Louise Shook, 86, of Latty, Oh was called home to be with her heavenly Father on Saturday September 24, 2016 at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
Betty was born on April 29, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Robert J. and Velma F. (McDaniel) Toker. Betty graduated from Jones Commercial High School in Chicago, Illinois.
Betty married Russel H. Shook on August 20, 1949. He preceded her in death on September 26, 2009. She is survived by daughters, Nancy L. Shook of Latty, Ohio; Cathy J. (Paul) Hirschy of Twin City, Georgia; Debra L. Basso of Niles, Michigan, and son Mark R. (Peggy) Shook of Antwerp, Ohio. Betty will also be sadly missed by her nine grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Betty was also preceded in death by her brother Robert Toker, Jr. and 3 sisters, Velma F. Toker, Margaret M. "Peggy" Smith and Alice F. Brown.
Betty's family will be celebrating her life with visitation from 5-8 PM on Tuesday September 27, 2016 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory and one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday September 28, 2016 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will take place in Ridge Cemetery, Middle Point, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers the family requests the memorials be made to the Hospice-Visiting Nurses of Paulding County or Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
