Robert Wayne Stover, 80, of Rockford, Ohio passed away at 5:34 AM on Friday, August 29, 2014 at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center. Bob was born on September 2, 1933 in Chattanooga to Wilbur and Beatrice (Gephart) Stover. He married Doris Becher on August 13, 1952. Doris passed on March 18, 2006. Bob was a 1951 graduate of Rockford High School. He later enlisted in the Marines and served until 1955. Bob lived in the Rockford area and was a farmer his entire life. He belonged to St. John Lutheran Hopewell NALC where he had served as an elder. Bob was also a member of the American Legion Post 508; Parkway Boosters Club; Mercer County Democrats and the Eagles. Surviving Bob are 3 sons: Brian (Brenda) Stover, Rod (Kelly) Stover and R. Thomas (Penny) Stover all of Rockford. Bob has 2 surviving daughters: Cindy (Keith) Canary and Julia (Todd) Henkle also of Rockford. Bob has one surviving brother: Donald (Rose Ann) Stover of Goshen, Indiana. Preceding him in death were 2 sons: Dennis Wayne and Ted Alan Stover and 1 sister: Virginia Bourelle. He is also survived by his spouse Marge (Frahm) Stover. Bob was able to enjoy 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at St. John Lutheran Church Hopewell on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Karen Tamorria officiating. Burial will be at the Riverside Cemetery, Rockford. Friends may call on Friday, September 5th from 3:00 until 8:00 PM at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford and at 9:00 AM Saturday at the church. Memorial donations may be made in Bob's honor to the Rockford Recreational Department or the Parkway Booster Club.
