Bonnie Ashbaugh

Bonnie M. Ashbaugh, 85, of Van Wert, died at 11:15 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, 2016, at Vancrest Healthcare Center of Van Wert. She was born May 11, 1931, in Van Wert County, Ohio. Her parents, Ethel (DeCamp) Long and Elwyn Long, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her children, Teresa L. Saxton of Van Wert, Linda (Jerry) Kaverman of Ft. Jennings, Ohio, and Rick (Dianna) Ashbaugh of Middle Point, Ohio; a brother, Robert D. Long of Middle Point; sisters, Rosa (Harold) Wollenhaupt of Cridersville, Ohio, and Helen Ashbaugh of Van Wert; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchildren, and many loved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Gwendolyn Mobley, Josephine L. Terrell and Ladonna Wollenhaupt.
She retired as a nurse from the Van Wert County Hospital with over 15 years of service. She had also worked as a nurse at the Van Wert Manor, National Seal and Continental Can Company, all of Van Wert. She was a member of the Buckeye Bells Red Hat Society and a past member of the Middle Point Rebekah Lodge.
Service will begin at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, 2016, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory. The Rev. Ron Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery Van Wert.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016 at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is Thomas Edison Center of Van Wert, Ohio.
