Bonnie Speelman
January 14, 1931 — December 15, 2017
Bonnie L. Speelman, 86, of Convoy, Ohio passed away at 5:30 pm Friday, December 15, 2017 at Parkview Medical Center in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born January 14, 1931 in Van Wert County to the late Glen and Annetta E. (Upp) Baer.
On July 9, 1950, Bonnie married the love of her life, Earl D. Speelman. She was a member of First United Brethren in Christ Church in Van Wert. Bonnie always made caramels and baked pies for the church. She was an avid Crestview supporter and enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. Bonnie cherished the time spent with her family and grandchildren. She was loved by family and friends and will be dearly missed.
She is survived by daughters, Nancy Speelman of Van Wert; Lisa A. (Nick) Miller of Convoy; grandchildren: Brittany Speelman; Mark (Deidra) Miller, Jennifer Miller, Brad Miller & Scott (Megan) Miller; great-grandchildren: Tinley, Jase & Raegan Miller; brothers, Donald "Murf" (Judy) Baer of Convoy; Robert "Jake" Baer of Van Wert; Charles (Linda) Baer of Convoy; sisters, Betty (Mike) Wyandt of Van Wert; NaDonna (Ralph) Schumm of Blufton, Indiana; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Speelman; grandson, Matthew Paul Miller; great-grandson, Kayden Andrew Miller; brothers ; Carl & Walter “Bud” Baer; sisters ; Glendora Baer, Anna Kathryn Rase, Jeanette Smith, Juanita Black; and half-sister, Vera Nortley.
Funeral service will be at1 pm on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Gearhart & Jurczyk Funeral Home, Convoy, Ohio with Pastor Jody Harr officiating. Interment will be at Convoy IOOF Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday, December 20, 2017 from 11am to service time.
