Carl R. Evans, 85, of Van Wert, died at 6:24 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center, Van Wert.
He was born Dec. 3, 1929, in Middle Point, Ohio, to the late Adah (Phillips) Evans and George Evans.
His wife, Beverly (Blue) Evans, survives in Van Wert.
Other survivors include children: Sue A. (Gary) Miller of Celina, Ohio, Robert O. (Vicki Carey) Evans of Van Wert, David A. (Bonnie) Evans of Middle Point, Deborah K. Rominger of Lexington, Kentucky, and Randall S. (Corinne) Evans of Dublin, Ohio; a brother: John (Margaret) Evans of Middle Point; a sister-in-law: Betty Evans of Van Wert; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Everett and Lloyd Evans, a sister: Opal Barfell, and two grandchildren.
He retired from Ohio Power after 42 years of service. He liked to golf and go camping.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 11, 2015, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery, Middle Point.
Visitation is 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Monday, May 11, 2015, at the funeral home.
