SCOTT, Ohio - Carlvin "Carl" F. Roop, 79, Scott, died at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, at Select Specialty Hospital, Ft. Wayne, Ind.
He was born Oct. 20, 1932, in Rockford, Ohio, to the late Hazel (Sprague) Roop and Joseph Roop.
His wife, Connie (Stahl) Roop, survives in Scott.
Other survivors include his children (two sons and two daughters): William (Robin) Roop, Scott, Ohio, Michael (Cheryl) Roop and Chris Harman, both of Van Wert, Ohio, and Laurie Roop, Ft. Wayne; several grandchildren, great-grand- and great-great-grandchildren.
He worked maintenance at Ley Equipment, Teleflex, then retired in 1994 with Budd Company, all of Van Wert. He was a veteran of the Korean War in the U.S. Army, a member of the Van Wert American Legion and enjoyed fishing and camping.
Private family services will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation.
Preferred memorial is the American Heart Association.
