Carolyn Caywood

Carolyn M. Caywood, 85, of Rockford, Ohio, died at 5:25 p.m. on May 1, 2014, at the Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford. She was born on July 21, 1928 in Zanesville, Ohio, the daughter of Edward F. and Elsie Mae (Boyer) Abele. On May 5, 1951, she married Marion "Bill" Caywood, and he preceded in death on February 19, 1998. She was an LPN and had worked for Dr. Brashere in Rockford, Ohio; Dr. Walters in Van Wert, Ohio; Gibbons Hospital in Celina, Ohio; Colonial Nursing Home in Rockford; and Celina visiting Nurses in Celina. She also worked at Huffy's Bicycle Manufacturing in Celina, Ohio, where she retired after 30 years, to care for her ailing husband. She had lived in Rockford since 1951, coming from Cleveland, Ohio. She was a member of the Rockford United Methodist Church and a life time member of the Celina VFW Post. Surviving are 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; a niece, Diane (Terry) Hodge of Sumter, South Carolina; 3 nephews, Ed (Karen) Long of Rockford, Ohio, Ted (Pam) Krugh, also of Rockford, and Denny (Shirley) Krugh, of Ohio City, Ohio, along with many great nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her husband, Bill, is her daughter, Linda Kirsch, and a brother, Donald "Butch" Eugene Abele. Graveside memorial services will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Rockford, on Thursday, May 22, 2014, at 10:30 a.m., with State of the Heart Chaplain Eric Muhlenkamp officiating.
