Carolyn Garwood

Carolyn A. Garwood of Van Wert died at 4:53 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015, at Van Wert Hospital.
She was born Jan. 3, 1939, in Van Wert, to the late Mildred (Mason) Rhodenbaugh and Earl Rhodenbaugh. Her husband, Ralph W. Garwood, survives of Van Wert. They were married Aug. 20, 1961.
Other survivors include one child, Lisa (John) Hull of Holly, Michigan; a brother, Don (Varlene) Rhodenbaugh of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; a sister, Hazel (Doyle, deceased) Garwood of Van Wert, and two grandchildren, Matthew Weil and Marcus Weil.
She retired in 1999 from Sprint Telephone Company in Van Wert and Lima, Ohio, after 43 years of service. She was a member of Trinity Friends Church, Van Wert, an auxiliary member of Van Wert American Legion, and a member and past chairperson of T.W.I.G. II. She volunteered a few days a week at the church answering phones and working the food bank.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015, at Trinity Friends Church, Van Wert. The Revs. Steve Heilshorn and Steve Savage will officiate. Burial will be in Lehman Cemetery, Payne, Ohio. Calling hours are 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015 at the church.
Preferred memorial is Trinity Friends Church.
