Carolyn Goins

Carolyn L. Goins, 75, of Haviland, died at 4:35 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice. She was born July 25, 1941, in Haviland, to Thelma (Rodman) Baker and Elmer Baker. Her parents are deceased.

Her husband, Jerry Goins, survives. They were married Aug. 11, 2005. She married James L. Goins on March 22, 1958. He died Oct. 2, 2002.

Her in-laws, Gladstone "Jack" Goins, Mercedes Goins, Steve Goins and Judi Goins, are all deceased.

Survivors include children, Glenda (Dan Adkins) Goins of Haviland, Cameran (Connie) Goins of Apex, North Carolina, Christi (Jason Dottterer) Dias of Haviland; step children, Jeff, Jerry Jr. and Joe Goins, all of Scott; siblings, June (Cheryl) Baker of Payne, Ohio, Joan (Rodger) Barker of Defiance, Ohio, and Toni (George) Searfoss of Haviland; eight grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and five step great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Glen and John Baker and sisters, Nellie Hartman, Rose Maples and Erma Friend.

She retired after 38 years from Teleflex, Van Wert. She attended Pioneer Christian Ministries.

Carolyn was outgoing and loved to have fun. She liked playing bingo and visiting the casinos. She also enjoyed attending garage sales, shopping and finding the best deals, but most of all, she loved her family and all the get-togethers and holidays spent with them.

Service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. Pastor Chuck Oliver will officiate. Burial will be in Blue Creek Cemetery, rural Paulding County, Ohio.

Visitation is 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, 2017, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorial to the family for the purchase of benches at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center, Van Wert.
