Charlotte Banks

Charlotte L. Banks, 77, of Van Wert, died at 4:35 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015, at the Van Wert Manor.

She was born June 14, 1938, in Delphos, Ohio, to the late Regina (Siefker) Schlatman and Charles Schlatman.

Her husband, Sammy Banks, preceded her in death.

Survivors include children, Kelly Phillips of Decatur, Indiana, and Jodi (Dennis) Parsons of Middle Point, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Lauri Sherry of Decatur, Indiana; brothers: Orland (Lois) Schlatman of Delphos and Orban (Susie) Schlatman of Fayetteville, West Virginia; sisters: Opal Mae (John) Harper of Frankfort, Indiana, Opalean Hvizdak of Payne, Ohio, Olive Schlatman of Delphos, and Opal Jean (Gale) Thiel of Stryker, Ohio; grandchildren, Chris (Dawn) German, Noah Siegel, Bradley Sherry, Heather (Adam) Hillery, and great-grandchildren, Haley, Lorynn, Christian, Maddux, and Devon.

She was preceded in death by two children, Mark Sherry and Susan Sherry, and a brother, Orville Schlatman.

She worked as a laborer at Teleflex for 25 years. She was a member of Countryside Church of the Nazarene in Willshire, Ohio, and a life member of the Van Wert American Legion Auxiliary.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert. The Rev. Carol Tumbleson-Evans will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.

Visitation is 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorial is Van Wert Manor Activities Fund.
