Chris A. Shindeldecker, 48, died in Key Largo, Florida, on Friday evening, August 30, 2013. He was born on March 7, 1965 in Celina, Ohio, to Frank and Patricia A. (Marsee) Shindeldecker. He graduated from Parkway High School, Rockford, in 1983. He was employed as a security guard at the Patches School in Key Largo. Previously he had worked in landscaping. His zest for life was exemplified by his love of motorcycle racing. Surviving are his father, Frank Shindeldecker, Jr. of Ohio City, Ohio; his mother, Patricia A. (Bob) Froning of St. Marys, Ohio; his fiance, Brandi Funderburgh, Key Largo; one son, Christopher Loshe of Decatur, Indiana and two daughters, Brittany Stapleton of Columbus, Ohio and Darbi Funderburgh, Key Largo. Also surviving is a brother, Chad Shindeldecker of Ormond Beach, Florida and a sister, Lisa (Edward) Keipper of Rockford, Ohio. Services will be held on Monday, September 9, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, with Pastor Chip Steffy officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, September 8, 2013 from 2:00 pm- 8:00 pm and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Memorials may be directed to the family or a chosen charity.
