Christopher Kirk

Christopher L. Kirk, 37, of Van Wert, left us unexpectedly on February 25, 2025, after a brief illness. Born on February 20, 1988, in Lima, Ohio, Chris was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend.

Chris was known for his knack for fixing just about anything. Whether it was working on cars and trucks or building something from scratch, he had a talent for rigging things up and making sure they worked. A true handyman at heart, he was always there to lend a helping hand whenever anyone needed it. Beyond his skills, Chris cherished the time he spent with his kids and family, making memories that will last forever.

He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Kirk; sons: Chaz, Christopher Jr. and Channing Kirk, Trevor Groves and Jordan Taylor; daughter Katie (Nathan) Groves; mother and stepfather, Denise and Greg Elder; grandmother, Marilyn Elder; sister, Alexis (Tim Harris) Kirk; brothers: Brandon Clark, Zach (Ashley) Burkhammer; step-brother, Brooks (Kennedy) Elder; step-sister, Mackenzie Lewis as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Chris was preceded in death by his step brothers: Andrew and Logan Elder; grandparents: Dennis Neer, Sue Lowe and Charles Robert Elder.

A private family viewing will be held at the Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home Chapel with cremation to follow. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
