Clyde Roush

WETZEL, Ohio - Clyde E. Roush of Wetzel, died at 3:08 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at Parkview North Medical Center in Ft. Wayne, Ind.

He was born April 15, 1929, to the late Howard E. and Gladys A. (Hammons) Roush.

He married Jane A. Smith on Oct. 22, 1952.

Survivors include his children: Lana J. German and Howard R. Roush of Wetzel and Cheryl L. Smith of Van Wert, Ohio; grandchildren: Trisha A. (Cola Orsbon) Carter of Townley, Ind., Fara L. (Chad) Lare of Howell, Mich., Jeremy R. (Jamie) Roush of Powell, Ohio, Jason (Kim) Roush of Cincinnati, Ohio, Joshua M. (Ashley Stripe) Ricker and Matthew L. Ricker of Van Wert, Adam D. (Andrea) Ricker of Grover Hill, Ohio, Mike (Michelle) Sarver of rural Middle Point, Ohio; great-grandchildren: Jared A. (Katie Hundley) Stegaman and Nicholas M. Stegaman of Van Wert, Brock A. Stegaman of Townley, Jerett Roush and RaeAnn Adams of Powell, Jacob Roush of Cincinnati, Joslynne Ricker of Van Wert, Aries Ricker of Grover Hill, Nicole Sarver of Toledo, Ohio, Maria Sarver of rural Middle Point; great-great-granddaughter: Vayda J. Stegaman of Van Wert; niece: Susan (Mickey) Brady and nephew: Brad (Kim) Roush of Wadsworth, Ohio, and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother: Nolen O. Roush; niece: Debbie Miller; his wife of 42 years, Jane A. Roush, and daughter-in-law: Jeanie Roush.

He drove truck most of his life. After retirement, he delivered the Times Bulletin and drove school bus for Lincolnview and Ottoville schools. He really enjoyed driving to sporting events as he was an avid sports fan. He had owned stock race cars which raced at Limaland Speedway. He was an original member of the Middle Point Sno Twisters, he enjoyed fishing, all sports, reading, and playing games. He had coached Little League and men's slow pitch softball. He loved the Van Wert County Fair and never missed one. He will be missed by many.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Preferred memorials may be directed to the Van Wert Council on Aging.
