VAN WERT, Ohio - Connie J. York, 67, of Van Wert, Ohio, died at 2:46 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2011 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio.
She was born Dec. 9, 1943, in Monroeville, Ind., to the late Frieda (Gaskill) Alcanter and Nino Alcante. Her husband, Max York, survives of Van Wert.
Other survivors include her children: Kelly (Tony Craig) Brown of Middle Point, Ohio, Lisha (Roger) Miller of Van Wert, Arnie (Cheryl) Brown of Lima, Ohio, and Troy Brown of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; three step children; her sisters, Janice (Bill) Doan of Ft. Wayne, Dee R. Rodriguez of New Haven, Ind., Marla (Bruce) Mansfield of Payne, Ohio; seven grandchildren: Amber and Austin Craig; Tasha Showalter; Garick Hough; Miranda, Alexis and Mackenzie Brown, and four great-grandchildren.
A sister, Ramona V. Heath, is deceased
She had attended the Apostolic Church in Van Wert and was a homemaker.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 20 at Gearhart, Mack & Jurczyk Funeral Home, Convoy, Ohio. Burial will be in Convoy I.O.O.F. Cemetery at a later date.
Calling hours are 12-2 p.m. Sunday, March 20 at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is to the church.
