Daisy Taylor

VAN WERT, Ohio - Daisy M. Taylor, 86, Van Wert, died at 9:37 p.m. April 17, 2011, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
She was born Aug. 15, 1924, in Jackson County, Ohio, to the late Eithel (Chaney) Carter and James Harvey Carter. Her husband, Ray Taylor, died June 10, 2000.
Survivors include her children: Steven M. Williamson and Deborah J. (Rick) Metzger, both of Van Wert, Ohio; stepchildren: Linda (Wayne) Dawson of Convoy, Ohio, Lois (Buddy) Henderson of Lafayette, Ind., and Donald R. (Deb) Taylor of Van Wert; 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her brothers: Willard, Arthur, Floyd Carter, and a sister: Beatrice Dunn.
She worked at Teleflex Corporation in Van Wert for 22 years. She was a life member of the Van Wert VFW Auxiliary, an avid Bingo player and loved going to auctions.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 22 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. The Rev. Tim Burden will officiate. Burial will be in Taylor Cemetery, Van Wert County, Ohio.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 21 at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
