VAN WERT, Ohio - Dale E. La Rue, 90, of Van Wert, died at 2:04 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born Sept. 26, 1922, in Van Wert, to the late Grace (Spelbring) La Rue and Floyd D. La Rue.

On March 23, 1947, he married Helen (Shaffer) La Rue and she died in 2001. In 2002, He married Edna L. Harman and she died in 2010.

Survivors include his children: Pam (Frank) Sinning of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Kathy (Richard) Coffman of Hoagland, Indiana and Chris (Joe) Pohlman of Delphos, Ohio, grandchildren: Matthew Sinning, Nathan Sinning, Bryan Coffman, Blake Coffman, Andrew Pohlman and Laura Pohlman and great-grandchildren: Allison Sinning, Ethan Sinning, Annie Sinning, Jack Sinning, Owen Sinning, Emree Sinning, Lani Sinning, Stella Sinning, Luke Coffman, Carter Coffman, Emma Coffman & Aiden Kidney.

He retired in 1985 as a tooling expediter from Aeroquip Corporation, Van Wert, after 21 years of service. He had also worked at Playdium Lanes and Borden's Cheese.

He was a member of Pleasant Chapel United Methodist Church, Van Wert. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served in WW II, a member of Van Wert American Legion Post and the Van Wert Bowling Association, having served as league secretary from 1964-2008, and a member of the Van Wert Bowling Association Hall of Fame. He had bowled in the A.B.C. Tournament for 33 consecutive years.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. The Rev. Paul Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert, with military graveside services will be performed by combined units of the Van Wert American Legion and V.F.W. Posts.

Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26 at the funeral home.

Preferred memorial is Marine Corps Toys for Tots or Pleasant Chapel United Methodist Church or Van Wert Inpatient Hospice.
