Danny Shumaker

MIDDLE POINT, Ohio a�" Danny R. Shumaker, 67, of Middle Point, died Monday, Nov. 10, 2014, at Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
He was born on March 14, 1947, in Elgin, Ohio, to the late Tulvina M. (Knittle) Shumaker and Dale A. Shumaker.
Survivors include children: Halli Shumaker-Fritz of Cleveland, Ohio, and Brent Shumaker of Van Wert; a brother: Lanny Lemon of Middle Point, Ohio, and a grandchild: Kathryn Fritz. He is also survived by his faithful Boston terrier - Wilbur.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Barry M. Shumaker.
He was a retired truck driver. He was a veteran of the US Army during Vietnam, an avid bird watcher, and would help mow lawns and clear snow for members of the Middle Point community.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. Military services will be held by the Van Wert American Legion and VFW Posts. The Rev. Josh Tissot will officiate.
Visitation is 2-3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014, at the funeral home.
