LIMA - Darlene K. Perry, 57, of Van Wert, OH, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2012 at Lima Memorial Hospital in Lima, OH.
She was born September 24, 1954 in Lima to Donald and Margaret (Street) Long. Her father preceded her in death but her mother survives in Delphos, OH. She married Roy Perry, Sr. and he survives in Van Wert.
Perry is survived by her children, Cacey (Christopher Etgen) Long of Delphos, and Candy (Shawn) Clay of Van Wert; step-children Jim (Anna) Perry of Ohio City, Ralph (Linda) Perry of Van Wert, Hubert (Rhonda) Perry of Van Wert, Roy (Donna) Perry, Jr. of Van Wert, and Sheila Teman of Delphos; brothers, Paul "Bub"(Linda) Long of Drummonds, TN, Randy (Marilyn) Long of Van Wert, and Douglas (Karen) Long of Delphos; sisters, Linda Heckert of Van Wert, Debbie (Ralph) Jessee of Middle Point, and Brenda (Greg) Hesseling of Middle Point; grandchildren Mercedes Shaffer, Lee Clay, Dennis Clay and several step-grandchildren; and several step-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were two sisters, Dolina Pinnow and Madina Long, and one grandaughter, Autumn Etgen.
She had formerly worked at Convoy Care Nursing Home as a Dietary Technician and had a love for animals, leaving behind her furry best friend, Carmen.
A service will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, January 5 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert with Rev. Dave Ray officiating. A burial will follow at King Cemetery in Middle Point, OH.
Visitation will take place from 2-6 p.m. on Thursday, January 5 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family.
