VAN WERT, Ohio - David Lynn Girod, 57, of Van Wert, died early Wednesday morning, Dec. 19, 2012, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 7, 1955, in Van Wert, to Ruth Alice (Snyder) Girod and David C. Girod, who survives in Van Wert.
Other survivors include his children: Kari (Eddy) Casto of Van Wert, Stephanie (Eric) Bulington of Chicago, Ill., Kristin Helmick of Canton and Felecia Girod of New Bavaria, Ohio; a brother: Dean Girod of Van Wert; sisters: Ellen (Larry) Girod Dove of Van Wert and grandchildren: Noah Girod, Nick Fitzsimmons, Jacob, Kiersten and Ethan Druckemiller, Eliza Helmick, Oliver Bulington, Nadia and Brogan Pardon and Erin Casto.
He was a truck driver, most recently for Dedicated Fleet in Van Wert. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Van Wert. He was an avid fisherman and dearly loved spending time with his kids and grandkids.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. The Rev. Scott Campbell will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery, Middle Point, Ohio.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is Trinity United Methodist Church, Van Wert.
