David Scott

David B. Scott, 54, of Van Wert, died at early Tuesday morning, November 27, 2018 at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice. He was born November 13, 1964, in Van Wert, to Sharon R. (Feasby) and Bernard P. Scott.

David was a 1983 graduate of Crestview High School where he played baseball and football.  He retired from Federal Mogul after 33 years, and was a member of the United Steelworkers Union #14742.

David coached little league baseball for a time and was a member of the American Pool League. He enjoyed woodworking and making corn-hole boards and wall plaques.

On July 30, 2016 he married the love of his life, Debora E. McCague.

He is survived by his wife, Debora E. Scott of Van Wert; father, Bernard P. Scott of Van Wert; stepchildren: Katie (Adam) Muir of Antwerp; Kody McCague of Van Wert; Sabrina Gergely of Van Wert; sister, Judy Reiter of Van Wert; step grandchildren: Olivander McCague, Makenzie, Madison and Johnny Muir.

David was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon R. Scott.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Friday, November 30, 2018 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Thursday, November 29, 2018 at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to the American Cancer Society.
