Della Mae Ruth Thompson Partin McMinn, 72, of Ohio City, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Vancrest of Delphos. Ruth was born unto the union of the late Hymn and Rosa (Quillan) Thompson on September 06, 1949, in Dizney, Harlan County, Kentucky. She attended school in Cawood, Kentucky and believed in the Baptist faith.
On December 20, 1969, she married Fred Partin and together had 3 children: daughter, Charolette Partin of Van Wert and her ex-husband, Tracey Marquart; son, Anthony and Gina Partin of Delphos; son, Jamie Partin and ToiLyn Dull of Van Wert. She was also stepmother to Fred's daughters, Joann Partin and Diane Partin, both of Evarts, Kentucky. Fred passed away on September 6, 1991.
On July 4, 1994, Ruth married Larry McMinn and was stepmother to his 5 children: Jay, Pam, Christine, Sheri and Marilee. Larry passed away on March 6, 2021.
Ruth also had 7 grandchildren: Jacob (Veronica) Edens, Adam (Danielle) Partin, Ashley (Teagon) Partin, Daniel (Devin) Partin, Dylan (Cristina) Marquart, Rayna (Titus Miler) Marquart and Austin James Frederick Partin, who preceded her in death in 2007.
In addition to her children, stepchildren, and grandchildren, Ruth leaves behind 11 great grandchildren: Arianna, Emma, Sophia, Javier, Giovanni, Zander, Ynez, Kinzley, Mason, Carter, Kyrus and one due any minute; brothers: John (Marge) Thompson of Grover Hill; Art (Betty) Thompson of Cloverdale; sister, Leona Stevens of Van Wert, 3 friends that she carried dear to her heart: Sherry Hernandez, Judy Abbott and Juanita Fox; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews as well as her and Larry's dog Pudge.
In addition to her parents, spouses and grandson, Ruth was preceded in death by her stepfather, Milford Partin; brothers: Harry and James Thompson as well as Larry's dog, Little Bud.
Ruth was a caretaker for over 50 years and was a CNA working most recently at CHP, Interim as well as doing private duty care on her own. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, crocheting, cross word puzzles and coloring on her phone. She was a huge Jimmie Johnson fan.
Honoring Ruth's wishes, she will be cremated and a joint celebration of her and Larry's life will take place in the Spring.
