Delores Darwood

Delores N. Darwood, 90, of Van Wert, died at 10:16 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice.
She was born Nov. 7, 1926, in Greenville, Ohio, to Bessie Lou (Smith) Downing and Doyt Downing. Her parents are deceased.
Her husband, Norman R. Darwood, survives of Van Wert. They were married Feb. 7, 1948.
Other survivors include children, James R. Darwood of Mamaroneck, New York, and Dana C. Darwood of Columbus, Ohio, two sisters, Marjorie Snyder of Delphos and Mary Kreischer of Van Wert, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was employed with Aeroquip for over 20 years. Delores was raised Baptist; she enjoyed reading the bible, interior decorating, antiques and traveling.
Service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 30, 2017, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.
Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is CHP Hospice Center of Van Wert.
