VAN WERT, Ohio a�" Dennis Duane Quickstad (a.k.a. The Big Kahuna), 73, of Van Wert, died at 8:40 a.m. Sunday, April 2, 2017, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center, Van Wert. He was born March 28, 1944, in Waseca, Minnesota, to Mildred (Spies) Quickstad and Ernest Quickstad. His parents are deceased.
His wife, Sue Ann Marie (Ostendorf) Quickstad, survives in Van Wert.
Other survivors include children, Stacy (Nathan Snowball) Quickstad of Racine, Wisconsin, Michael Quickstad of Van Wert, Joshua (Angie) Quickstad of Columbus, Ohio, Caleb (Jill) Quickstad of Van Wert; brother, Terry (Lila) Quickstad of Waseca, Minnesota; sister, Judy Swanson of Milaca, Minnesota; a brother-in-law, Pete Pederson, who survives in Milaca, Minnesota, and grandchildren, Jaymie, Corban, Ethan, Dustin, Alexa.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Connie Pederson.
He was a cost accountant for Applied Power in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and also at Bristol Meyer Squib in Racine, Wisconsin, and Eaton Corporation, Van Wert. He owned Pleasant Grove Campground, Van Wert, until retiring.
He graduated from Waseca Central High School in 1962.
Family and friends are welcome to come celebrate the life of Dennis on Friday, April 7, 2017, from 1-4 p.m. at 15150 Lincoln Highway, Van Wert.
Preferred memorial is to the family.
