Dennis Warnecke

Dennis Carl Warnecke, 76, of Van Wert, passed away at 10:47 AM on Wednesday, September 07, 2022 at Van Wert Health ER. He was born on August 13, 1946, in Lima, to the late Ralph and Mary (Kroeger) Warnecke. On May 31, 1975, he married the love of his life, Diana Pohlman, who preceded him in death.

A 1964 graduate of Delphos St. Johns, Dennis went on to graduate in 1966 from the International Business College in Fort Wayne. He retired after more than 40 years from Kennedy Kit Manufacturing where he was Treasurer.

Dennis was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. He was also member of the Van Wert Rotary, Van Wert Jaycees, the Knights of Columbus as well as the YMCA.

Surviving are his seven brothers and sisters: Diane (Dan) Grothaus of Landeck; Dave Warnecke of Eatonton, GA; Dale Warnecke of North Royalton; Donna Mongold of Johnstown CO; Douglas Warnecke of Conifer, CO; Darline (Steve) Smith of Johnstown, CO; Della Harting of Van Wert; uncle, Melvin Warnecke of Goodlettsville, TN; aunt, Janelle Fredrich of Delphos as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Monday, September 12, 2022 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 601 Jennings Road, Van Wert, OH 45891, Father Chris Bohnsack, celebrant. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery, 10968 Woodland Ave. Van Wert, OH 45891.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 6 PM on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, 722 S. Washington St. Van Wert, OH 45891, where a prayer service will follow at 6:00 PM.
