Diane Comer

Diane Mary Comer, 82, of Haviland, left this world peacefully on March 13, 2025, at Paulding County Hospital. She was born on July 8, 1942, in Fort Wayne, IN, to William Russell and Louise (Delegrange) Pabst.

Diane graduated from Blue Creek High School in 1961 and dedicated 30 years of her career as a custodian at Wayne Trace Schools, retiring in 2010. Her commitment to her community extended beyond her job; she served on the Haviland Town Council for an impressive 30 years.

Family was everything to Diane. She cherished the moments spent with her sons, Pat (Shannon) Comer of Grover Hill, Shawn (Jody) Comer of Van Wert, and Chris (Paula) Comer of Middle Point, and took great joy in being a grandmother to her grandchildren: Abbie (Seth) Evans, Keeley (Cole) Welker, Ariel (Drew) Doner, Andrea (Derrick) Pease, Allison Singer, Patrick (Amanda) Comer, Kristian (Taylor) Comer, and Chelsy (Doug) Biederman as well as numerous great grandchildren.

Diane is also survived by her brother, Bill (Gloria) Pabst of Haviland, and sister, Theresa (John) Slagle of Pioneer, Oh.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Joyce Tanner; and a brother, Dick Pabst.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert, with Pastor Rick Grimes, officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Blue Creek Cemetery, Haviland.

Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00pm on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer Research.
