CONVOY, Ohio - Donald W. Shutt, 90, of Convoy, died at 4:28 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne, Ind.
He was born March 30, 1923, in Van Wert County, Ohio, to the late Effie (Terry) Shutt and John Shutt.
His wife, Jean (Hoblet) Shutt, is deceased.
Survivors include children: John Shutt of Convoy and Ron (Tammy) Shutt of Nashville, Tenn., brother: Gayle (Velma) Shutt of Van Wert, and two grandchildren: Kelli Shutt and Wesley (Mandy) Shutt.
He was preceded in death by his sisters: Mable Foust and Charlotte Eztler.
He was a lifetime farmer in Tully Township, Van Wert County. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, a former member of Convoy American Legion Post, a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Convoy, where he formerly served on the church council.
Service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 1 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Convoy. The Rev. Rita Bair will officiate. Burial will be in Convoy I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Convoy.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 30 at Gearhart-Jurczyk Funeral Home & Crematory, Convoy, and 12-2 p.m. Wednesday, May 1 at the church.
Preferred memorial is Convoy E.M.S.
