Donn Clayton Shriver, 92, of Van Wert, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, in Van Wert, OH. He was born on November 23, 1930, in Van Wert, OH., and adopted as an infant by Orville E. and Olive V. (Ferris) Shriver.
On June 21, 1953, Donn married the former Nancy Louise Davis, who preceded him in death on June 9, 2003. On October 6, 2007, he married June Elaine (Frazier) Gatford.
He was a 1948 graduate of Van Wert High School and attended the International Business College in Ft Wayne.
Donn retired in 1988 from Continental Can Company, in Van Wert, as the Chief Cost Clerk, after 38 years of service. He later drove a truck for Roundy's and the Van Wert County Engineer's Department and delivered flowers for the Van Wert Greenhouse.
Donn was a past Scoutmaster, Cub Pack Chairman, and Scout Committeeman. He was a member of First United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday School and had served on the Administrative Board.
Donn served as interim director and two terms as Board President, of the Wassenberg Art Center. He had also volunteered for the American Red Cross for many years and donated blood over 100 times.
He is survived by his wife, June Elaine Shriver; sons, Samuel D. (Lori) Shriver and Daniel A. Shriver; a sister, Jenny Lee (Shriver) (Coon) Scott; a sister-in-law, Janet (Davis) Bell; step-children, Sharon (Mike) Williams, Elaine (David) Hill and Roger (Autumn) Frazier; granddaughter, Isabella Shriver; step-grandchildren, Calvin (Taylor) Rutt, Katie (Jason) Von Kossovsky, Lori (Dan) Heiwig, Kyle (Casey) Hammons, Alex (Megan) Hammons, Gillian Frazier, Grayson Frazier, Michael (Veronica) Suter, Kyndrick (Stephanie) Hodson, Johnathan Hodson, Jacey Hodson, Timothy Frazier and Jacob Hill; and step-great-grandchildren, Theo Rutt, Ashlyn Rutt, Conner Hammons, Koda Hammons, Casen Hammons, Callie Hammons, Ryan Hammons, Nash Hammons, Bodi Hammons, Leah Heiwig, Hailey Heiwig, Nycolette Hodson and Vyenna Hodson.
Donn was preceded in death by his parents; his step-mom Ruth (Dougal) Shriver; his first wife, Nancy; a sister, Lyla Kay (Shriver) Collins; and a stepson, Lawrence Ralph Frazier.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert.
Preferred memorials may be directed to the American Red Cross.
