Dorothy Kohorst

VAN WERT, Ohio a�" Dorothy M. Kohorst, 87, of Van Wert, died at 9:15 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, at Van Wert Manor Nursing Home.

She was born May 28, 1928, in Van Wert County, Ohio, to the late Helen (Keller) Becker and Roy Becker.

Her husband, Carl S. Kohorst, died Aug. 13, 2011. They were married for 64 years.

Survivors include a daughter, Beth (Ron) Golemon of Van Wert, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Cynthia Kohorst of Van Wert; a brother-in-law, Adrian Hanes of Columbus, Ohio; a sister, Ruth Strong of Pearl, Mississippi; grandchildren, Amy (Dennis) Sperry, Kristi (Eugene) Trejo, Mandy (William) Hemming, Justin Kohorst, and great-grandchildren, Jenelle Sperry, Haley Sperry, Jacob Trejo, Janie Trejo, Julia (Taing Lyn Aung) Trejo, Gianna Hemming, Elena Hemming, Caleb Hemming, and a great-great-grandchild, Aung Lyn Su, and another great-great-grandchild due in February.

She was preceded in death by a son, Michael R. Kohorst, and a sister, Peggy Hanes.

She retired from Aeroquip Corporation, Van Wert, and was an real estate agent with the former Mark V Realty in Van Wert. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Van Wert, and a graduate of Lima Shawnee High School.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorial is Van Wert Special Olympics or Van Wert County Relay for Life.
