Dorothy P. Shock, 92, of Rockford, Ohio, died Saturday evening, February 19, 2012, at 7:12 p.m. at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born on December 10, 1919, near Pennville, Indiana in Jay County, the daughter of Walter C. and Virgie (Champ) Wright. On December 29, 1945, she married Max C. Shock, who preceded in death on October 15, 2009. Dorothy was a homemaker and lived most of her life in Rockford. She was a member of the Rockford United Methodist Church and the church's Women's Association. Surviving is one brother, Royce (Mary Ellen) Wright, of Portland, Indiana and one sister, Velma Hunt, of Caro, Michigan. One brother-in-law Gerald (Sondra) Dickson, of Portland, Indiana also survives, along with nieces and nephews. Deceased are two sisters: Maxine Kessler and Carolyn Sue Dickson. Services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford with Pastor Chip Steffy officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., and on Friday, one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be directed to the church.
