Rockford

Earnest Lee "Ernie" Felver, 81, of Rockford, Ohio, died Friday, November 6, 2020, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima, Ohio. He was born on June 30, 1939, in Allen County, Ohio, to Carl Robert and Nina (Harter) Felver. He was a graduate of the Rockford High School Class of 1959, and on June 11, 1960, he married the love of his life, Betty Grossnickle, who survives in Rockford. Ernie was a U.S. Army veteran and lived his entire adult life in the area. He had worked at New Idea until they closed their doors; he then began working at the Fremont Company in Rockford, retiring from there in 2001. He attended Mt. Tabor Church of God, Celina. Ernie and Betty loved to camp with their 3 children, when the kids were young. He enjoyed watching all the old Westerns on television to pass some of his time, but the majority of his time was spent with his family. He loved children, but especially his grandchildren—he and Betty would go to their football games, dance recitals, horse shows, and t-ball games—they had a big time with the families! He was enjoying his great grandchildren as well.
Together, Ernie and Betty had three children: Carl (Deena) Felver of Willshire, Brenda (Jon) Stose of Celina, and Steve Felver of St. Marys; five grandchildren: Daniel (Dani) Stose, Rachel (Kyle) Stoker, Steven (Emily) Stose, Tegan (Sean) Wachauf, and Tanner Felver; and three great grandchildren: Michael Stose, Maverick Stose, and Bentley Stoker. Also surviving is a sister, Delight Fox of Rockford. Deceased in addition to his parents are an infant son, Kevin Lee Felver, a brother, Robert (Bobby) Felver, two half sisters: Irene Germann and Darlene Salisbury; and two brother in laws, Gary Fox and Tony Salisbury.
Private graveside services for the family will be held on Tuesday at Stringtown Cemetery, Rockford, Ohio, with officiants, Pastor Darwin Dunten and Kyle Stoker. Military rites will be handled by the Celina Eichar De Curtins Post # 5713. Condolences may be expressed at ketchamripley.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, 111 West First Street, Rockford, Ohio.
