Edwin Lineberger

VAN WERT, Ohio - Edwin O. Lineberger, 89, of Van Wert, died at 10:55 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, at Cridersville Healthcare Center, Cridersville, Ohio.
He was born Jan. 15, 1923, in Roxbury, Ohio, to the late Bertha M. (Hall) Lineberger Kreider and Lawrence O. Lineberger.
His wife, Amelia B. (Benny) Lineberger, died July 9, 2011
Survivors include his children: Gregory Lineberger of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Pamela A. Lohman of Shippensburg, Pa., Cynthia S. Luby of Ellenton, Fla., grandchildren: Bianca (Chris) Young of Colorado Springs, Colo., Jeffrey Lohman of Provo, Utah, Brian Lohman of Chambersburg, Pa., and Lisa (Jonathon) Bard of Shippensburg, Pa., and great-grandchildren: Gage Young and Jazmyn Young, both of Colorado Springs, Colo., Jasper Lee Bard of Shippensburg, Pa., and Rachel Madison Lohman of Chambersburg, Pa.
He was preceded in death by three children: Nancy L., Patricia L. and Gordon W. Lineberger, his brothers: Robert, Ivan, Hugh, Stanley and Max Lineberger, and a sister: Mildred M. Crombie.
He was a retired minister, school teacher and administrator - having served Crestview Local Schools, Paulding Exempted Village, Sparta Highlands Schools and Imperial Valley, California School District. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Van Wert, and the Westar Institute Jesus Seminar Group.
He was a former member of Van Wert Lion's Club; graduate of Ohio Northern University, McCormick Theological Seminary and Bowling Green State University and University of Toledo with a Master's degree in education, and authored three books: his autobiography, "Conversations by the Brothers of Jesus of Nazareth" and "Glimpses of the History of Government, Religion, and Education from the Beginning of Civilization to the Present."
Edwin had an unselfish interest in medical education and research. His desire to donate his body to Wright State University School of Medicine will aid in the education and training of physicians. In respect of Edwin's wishes, there will be no cremation memorial services.
